History

Started in 1955 as a small machineshop only working for the local players in the Eindhoven region KMWE developed into a global partner for the High Tech Industries. Our history and achievements:

2017 Aalberts Investments takes a 25% stake in KMWE



18 January 2017 Aalberts Investments and the current shareholders of the KMWE Group (KMWE) signed an agreement where Aalberts Investments acquires a 25% stake in KMWE. KMWE is herewith reinforcing its strategic and financial position in preparation for the strong growth forecasts for the coming years.
2017 KMWE Malaysia ISO13485 certified



KMWE Malaysia has passed the ISO13485 audit successfully and will be registered as conforming to ISO13485:2003 quality management standard.
This certification will help KMWE Malaysia to expand its business in the medical market.
2016 Official GO Brainport Industries Campus



On 28th September the Raad van State (Dutch institute) gave the official permission for the start of the Brainport Industries Campus. KMWE will establish here as first inhabitant in the beginning of 2018.

The face of the High Tech Supply Chain in Eindhoven
At the BIC the most innovative and succesfull organisations are gathered and will work closely together in one campus. The campus will be a hotspot for innovation, education, co-operation and sustainability. The next generation of the High Tech supply chain will be educated in a inspiring place.

2016 Start AddFab



In October 2013 Additive Industries opened the doors of AddLab at Strijp-S. Together with nine partners from the manufacturing industry, this joint pilot plant for 3D metal printing became a hot spot of additive manufacturing industry that can compete with the world. After the 3-year project KMWE, NTS-Group and Machinefabriek De Valk started together the new AddFab. Frencken and MTA remain involved in the second line to 3D printing parts. They will now focus on industrial serial production and scale-up of the capacity.
 

2016 KMWE Malaysia AS9100 certified



By achieving AS9100 certification KMWE Malaysia has taken the steps necessary to assure the aerospace standards.

This certification will help KMWE Precision to expand its participation in the aerospace and aviation markets.

2015 Installation 5-axis Chiron Mill 3000 High Speed Plus



In January the first 5-axis Chiron Mill 3000 High Speed Plus was installed for the machining of large structures up to 3 meters.

2015 KMWE 60th anniversary



April 23, 1955 - April 23, 2015

KMWE began in 1955 with one milling machine and a lathe machine in the barn of a home in Eindhoven. Now KMWE has become an international player.
This year, KMWE celebrates its 60th anniversary.
2015 KMWE first factory at Brainport Industries Campus



KMWE has announced plans to move to a brand new factory on an industrial campus being developed in Eindhoven, the so called Brainport Industries Campus. BIC was launched jointly by Eindhoven municipality, North Brabant province, Brabant Development and the co-operative Brainport Industries comprising Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three suppliers.  It is designed to be a hub for high-tech industry and a crucible for manufacturing innovation in the Eindhoven region.
2015 Edward Voncken finalist Entrepreneur Of The Year



With KMWE, CEO Edward Voncken is finalist in the category Accelerating of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2015, thé business award of the Netherlands.

DutchAero -  a renowned supplier of aerospace structures and - engine parts in the Netherlands -  has been taken over by KMWE
2014 KMWE and IDS start Joint Venture IDEAS

IDEAS offers a wide range of solutions, directly helping customers to improve the performance of their products as well as bringing about significant improvements in their design to manufacturing cycles.
2014 KMWE opens UK office



KMWE opens UK office. Martin Farmer, is appointed by KMWE as the Business Development Executive for UK and Ireland. The UK office is based in Bristol, the heartland of aerospace in Britain.
2013 ISO 13485 certified



Besides ISO 9001:2010 and AS9100 rev C KMWE also received its ISO 13485 certification.
2013 Large investments in Titanium machining



KMWE invests in the latest technologies and equipment needed for the Titanium machining. The biggest investment in the history so far consists of latest CAD/CAM software and four 5-axis cnc machines and 1 large CMM.
2013 KMWE Systems expands cleanroom capacity to 900m2



ISO Class 6 cleanroom in line with the latest standards for the Semiconductor and Medical industry

2013 Jan Bruurs wins Ir. Noordhofprijs.



Jan Bruurs wins the Ir. Noordhofprijs in category Metal. This yearly event is to promote craftmenship.

2012 Launch KMWE Projects



Next to its Components and Systems activities KMWE starts a separate entitiy for the Engineering and Prototyping activities, called KMWE Projects.

By taking over a local machining company KMWE Malaysia is able to kick start its Components activities.
